Help with stalling issue
« on: May 02, 2009, 04:03:07 PM »
Ok I have had a issue with my wrangler for a few months now. Been replacing logical parts trying to find a problem. I have a 89 wrangler with a 2.5 tbi. The symtoms are when you try to drive it just stalls out. I have replaced just about everything i can think of. Here is a list. tps, cps, fuel filter, fuel pump, fuel injector, ecu, along with a few other items that needed to be done for inspection. I tried to drive it other night and couldn't even get outta my drive way. Reverse was fine but as soon as i tried to move forward ... Stalled out. I tried to pull it back into garage and i had to put it into 4x4 to get it to creep in. Any ideas? Places to start? I am close to taking it to a shop i guess.

I also noticed sometime the buzzer goes on then off sometimes it doesnt buzzx at all? Seemed like it was starting when the buzzer wasnt going on...... maybe just me looking to far into it.,

you sure there aren't any loose connections making the motor cut out? id start from the battery terminals and trace upstream from there...  or it could be a vacuum leak..

Did you check the ignition, the vacuum pressure and the fuel pressure?

Check that the plugs are actually getting juice; my distributor recently went bad, and I also had some stalling problems...  Also check the fuel pressure and that you have the correct vacuum.
