I just picked up a 99 TJ with a 4 banger in it.. I had a 03 with the 4.0 and the diffrence is BIG.. I need some help, what ia the best mods that I can do on my motor?? I have noticed the tb swap and the ford 19# injestors, but how hard is this to do, and is it a direct swap?? Do i have to remap my computer?? Any help would be great. Thanks Stu

For a TJ you need 24# injectors. The YJ's use the 19#.
Both swaps mentioned are direct replacement of the stock parts. Pretty simple projects. To reset the computer disconnect both sides of the battery and touch the + to the - for about 30 seconds. It takes about 50 warm up cycles for the computer to relearn.
There is also the E-fan swap.
What size tires are you running?

Right now I have 31/10.50 at, but I just picked up a set of 32/11.50 mt.. I am looking for some wider rims..

Re-gearing the axle's is gonna give you the most noticable improvement. More than likely the PO did not swap the gears when the larger tires were put on. Regearing is pricey with parts and labor in the $1200 range.

Ouch. I think I will try the injectors, what about the TB swap? Do I just get 1 from another TJ (4.0) or do I useable older jeep?

Yeah but without the labor he can do it himself for the cost of the gears. Which would be around $250-$300 if I'm not mistaken?

I did lockers, axles, and gears for a little over $2 grand with labor and all...  $1,200 for gears seems a bit steep.  I think it would be more around $600, but it will change depending on where you live...

there's a writeup in the FAQ - some Cherokees (or Grand Cherokee i think) had a 136 amp alternator (vs. 90amp stock) - pretty much bolt on with just a minimal change - i installed one on my 95 YJ but had to also upgrade the wire since stock goes thru 2x50amp fuses and i blew both of them when i drained the batteries ones (forgot the lights on) - not sure how the TJ is wired but keep that in mind. You won't gain any HP :) but a good thing to have if you get an e-fan.

I bought mine from e-bay complete with new cable and all...  I am happy with how it turns out, and I got I over 160A, so more than enough for my accessories!

Parts run about $300 per axle with good gears and install kits with compete bearings and seals. Labor around here runs in the $300 range for the front and $250 for the rear.
Most people don't have the knowledge or tools to properly install R&P's. I'd say leave it to the pro's.

Installed my new TB today, and wow what a big inprovement.. Very easy to swap over, and I didn't have any crazy idle problem..
