94 YJ + 89 Waggy D44's = questions

Im getting ready to put some Waggy 44's out of a 89 and have a couple questions. Ive read a new master cylinder is needed to handle the bigger brakes? Do i need to move the spring perches to line up with my springs? any other modifications i will need to make this swap. I have a small idea of a couple things, but if anyone has done this and can give me a nice list that would be great. Im keeping my SUA configuration. Thanks guys.

You are going to have to do some grinding and drilling to get the perches lined up.  They are about 1" wider then what the YJ uses on the front.  (they need to be moved 1/2" on either side.) The rear are easy since you can just cut off the old perches and weld new ones.

I've never really heard of anyone having to get a new master for the brakes.  They can work.  Although if you're going to be doing all of that work you might want to upgrade the master and or booster.

The brakes will work with your stock master cylinder.  The front calipers do require more fluid, so a master cylinder upgrade in the future wouldn't be a bad idea.  I upgraded mine to get one for 4whl discs.

What master cylinder did you upgrade to? Anything that will bolt up to my booster??

I'd probably look for a TJ dual-diaphragm booster and a E350 master.  Although, you could go with a Grand Marquis Master and keep your single-diaphragm booster.

What year and engine size for the E350? For some reason ford likes having 5 engines for the same van...

I don't think there is any difference.  From '75-'09 use the same master.  I checked with a few different engine's and still get the same PN# for a master.   This one is only $31 and new with a lifetime warranty.  They also have a cheaper rebuild but for $31, I'd go new.

I think the MC I used was from a '78 Grand Marquis with 4whl disc and hydroboost.
