Do you still run in to that problem when you do the AX-15 conversion in a jeep? or is that just using the ax-15 with the dakota 4cyl
No because the Jeep's AX-15 is upright.

if the flywheel has the same tooth pattern for the PCM then you could use the hole clutch assembly from the Dakota (the clutch is the only issue when going to the AX15 with the Dakota bellhousing for the 4 banger). don't know about the clocking issue though so you might have to get a clocking ring for the t-case.

Its just a thought I had as I think about getting my motor rebuilt or buy a different used one to drop in this coming year.  I want to swap the tranny out and didnt know if for a few hundred more if it was worth it to get the enginge and just pull one drivetrain out and just drop the new one and hook everything back up
