Favorite mod?
« on: January 09, 2010, 07:25:00 PM »
I imagine it's been gone over before, and possibly in my time here... But what's everyone's favorite mod they've ever done to their Jeep?

I'd say mine is the rear disk conversion. I LOVE being able to stop my 35's on a dime. I still need to add a larger master cylinder/new prop valve, but the overall braking is far better than it's ever been.
92 YJ. Lifted, 4:88's, 9" rear, 4 wheel disks, some armor, some audio, 35" KM2's, and more

I hate to say it...but my stereo.....

Having GPS, back-up camera, DVD and iPod control in one 7" touch-screen unit is a godsend both on and off road.

I think my stereo would be a close second, I love being able to rock out to good, clean, and loud tunes on and off road. Plus my latest deck has an iPod/iPhone interface and bluetooth, it's almost too luxurious on road  :naughty:

And not that I should be doing this- But I found out that with the iPod interface I can put movies on my iPhone watch them when I drive long distances  The sound comes through the stereo and my phone rests perfectly on the dash for me to view. Again I know I shouldn't, but it's freakin sweet being able to do so!   :pirate:

I'd have to say Bounty Hunter's 62mm throttle body and spacer. It has done the most to improve the overall "driveability". I know what the consensus is on spacers but, after running the TB without one for a while, there was a noticeable difference in the power curve.
No matter where you're going, there you are.

other than the obvious (lift, mtrs, and rear locker which realy just made it the jeep it should have been from the factory) id have to say the electric fan... gave back a noticeable amount of power and made it highway drivable.

I'd have to say the 4.88 gears would be the one for me...  Even with the 31's I felt theJeep was underpowered when running 4.10.

The ARB (installed in rear axle).  Nothing makes a bigger difference off road than having at least one locker.
