Will 95' Intake and accesories bolt to a 86' carbed 2.5?
« on: January 26, 2010, 11:44:19 AM »
I think it will and I should just have to block of the manual fuel pump outlet.  But if someone else know for sure please get back asap.  There had been a catostrphic engine failure in the jeep I just bought and I found this 86' engine for cheap.  All your help is appreciated.

 I bought that engine because mine had a cracked head and block.  I drove 2 hours each way to get it.  I got it home put it on the engine stand, took off the head and low and behold it too had a cracked head and block.    :bore:   I called the guy and told him about the engine he refunded my money but it was another 2 hours each way.   I found another engine on CL same day and picked that up on the way home.  What a long  :ban: day.   But I took the head off this one and everything looks great.  I will swith my multi port injection stuff over this weekend once I get the head back from the machine shop, By the way Davisons Napa in Mcminnville Oregon does the best machine work around and for less 503-472-6114.  They have done several engine including motorcycle resleeves and overbores.  To have my head disassembled and a complete valve job is only $100.  Boring cylinders is $17 a hole and Crank grinding is only $80.  If anyone else wants to list some of the prices their local machine shops charge it would be nice to see some comparisons. thanks I will post some more this weekend.

that is cheap - full cyl head job here is $300 (Vancouver, Canada) at Canada Engine - apparently they're the best but they are also expensive. dunnoi about any other prices.

 Third engine was in great shape.  Had a valve job done, replaced the rear main seal, pan gasket, and all top end gaskets, new water pump and all tune-up parts.  Got it in sat night and it fired right up.      $1500 for the 95 YJ, $200 for the used engine, $100 for valve job, misc gaskets, plugs, filters, oil, cap & rotor, wires, and water pump $150.  Total running $1950 not bad.
