I got the Warn mount and it is good but you can get cheaper ones.  Also, the Warn mount raises the winch a bit so a flat plate type mount would keep it lower if you care about that.

I'd go with Amazon or else look for a used one on Craigslist.  You can usually find M8000's as well as 8274's for a song and dance.

I would by from 4WD or thier sister co. 4WheelParts. They tend to always have deals and discounts on most of their products and it's free shipping if you pick it up in store.

They have a LONG history of screwing people over.  Especially the local stores.

I bought my M8000 from Mike. He is a great guy to deal with! Looks like he is about $30 higher than Amazon.

X2 on staying away from 4WP.

Funny thing is I got my M8000 from 4WP in Tustin, CA.  A friend of a friend worked there as a manager and got me a smoking deal at the time.  It was $427.

I have spent alot of money there and have never had any problems.

I shop around before I buy and almost always come back to them for the discounts and free shipping.

i also spent quite a bit with them - I had a few issues, they made it right in the end but it took a long time (2 months).

I will not do business with them. EVER.

I used to buy stuff occasionally but after 3 bad experiences they are done, the savings are ot worth losing my local shop over...

I think that was the reason they bought 4WD Hawdware.  That was a smaller family run business that competed with Quadratec but I guess they sold out to 4WPW's parent company.  I haven't bought anything from them since.
