What is this? (pics inside)

Can anybody tell me what this sensor is and where does the vacuum tube for it go?  It's located on the passenger side above the starter relay.

We could get a better idea if you zoomed out to now where you looking.  Inside cab, under hood?  Where's the other end of the hose connect?  (Snap a pic)

my best guess is a vent )maybe from the tranny or the front axle) - mine look different but i have a '95 - i can't think of anything else that would make sense since there are no wires going to it and no other hose to be a check valve

This sensor/relay is under the hood, on the passenger side, above the starter relay and next to the battery area on the firewall.  It is grounded and a vacuum hose is attached.  Problem is I can find anything to connect it to and if I new the name of it I could check my vacuum diagrams.

wouldn't that have another wire? he says it's only 1 ground connected to it.

I doubt it's a ground wire.

The black wire you see is a ground from the switch to the firewall.
