I have a '93 YJ 4cyl/5sp and pull a small enclosed camper.  the camper is 1150lbs before I put my camping gear in it.  I probably put an extra 200-300# inside.  The trailer is 13' hitch to bumber and 5'-6' wide and 6' tall inside.  Its what is called a ham can style.  I built my receiver bumper, there is a pic of it somewhere on here of it.  She pulls fine just not fast.  with the AX5 trany I pull in 4th gear, 5th is weak and not intended for pulling.  She pulls at 60-65 on flat ground without a strong wind, hills you will down shift.  60-65 mph puts the engine at 3000 rpm with my 33's and 4.88 gears, right at the power band.  Give yourself a little longer to stop.  I haven't had to make any sudden stops pulling this trailer, I usually run the 2 lanes and back highways.  I have another small 11' camper that is 800# that is equipped with a surge brake but this trailer is not finished yet.  Hope this info helps.
