Vacuum line photos needed
« on: December 14, 2010, 11:06:45 AM »
Well, I dun did a baaaad thing. Pulled my engine, rebuilt it, and when putting it back in, broke a couple of the plastic vacuum lines on the vacuum block :'(  I am unsure where to put them back now.  I looked at a few threads that showed some vacuum lines, but what I need is pics of the vacuum lines and where they go, OR a very clear explanation (eg: the line on the top left of the vacuum line block as you are looking at it from the front goes to the bottom vacuum port on the throttle body... etc).  My 2.5 is an 87 4.2 TBI in a comanche with no AC or PS and a 4 speed.   Help, please!  My wife wants her car back!  BTW, the chilton, etc diagrams do me no good since they do not show the block and on the throttle body they show four lines and I only have two.

you can take a look at this thread:
http://4bangerjp.com/forums/index.php/topic,9114.0.html

but sounds like you have the Cherokee type tbi with only 2 ports off of the tbi which was mentioned at the end of that thread and i don't know any specifics about but it should be similar to the yj setup with the 2 line difference..
1Q does your jeep have the passenger side front axle disconnect or not (im going to assume not and that's what i think is 1 of the 2 less vacuum lines)?
-if you take some pictures of what you have i could try to trace it back together like i did in the other thread.

In previous post I typed 4.2 but should have typed 4x2, so no front axle disconnect.  Yea, probably cherokee style with two connections on TB.  No problem to the back side of the block.  But, on front side, four that I am not sure of which go to where.

it is also a 4.2L so i doubt they are even remotely close.
