Jeeps don't do too well compared to the competition.  Most likely this has more to do with support and deep pockets then anything else.

So how do those big support trucks handle offroad, looking at some of the pictures of them jumping and what not it looks like it would be a pretty harsh ride, not to mention being top heavy, i dont see how those things dont tip over

They are top heavy and they do fall over.  The ride inside isn't that harsh though.  They are designed for offroad and such up most of the bumps.  They aren't just commercial trucks that are painted up.  The HINO's really take on a transformation.

That's actually how the Truck category got started.  Since support vehicles aren't allowed on the course, there are still support vehicles that are entered into the race.  They carry spare parts and such for the bikes and cars.  This is why you rarely see one vehicle entered per team.  Robby Gordon got smart and entered two H3's.
