Propane injection

Is it possible to "Inject" propane similar to a NOS system? is there any other gases that wouldn't be as hard on the engine as NOS?

You can, just not much of a gain to it. the burn value or energy contained in propane is lower than gasoline. So you are better off making the regular fuel work for ya.
It will shine though in a fairly high compression engine, where gasoline even with a fairly high octane content would cause pinging

propane is different than a Nitrous system. Nitrous is actually providing oxygen to be able to burn more fuel which you inject along with it, it breaks down into oxygen and nitrogen during compression, the extra oxygen increases the amount of gasoline you can burn.

propane is a fuel.

If you have a carb engine, propane will be great for when you drive the Jeep at extreme angles.  This was a fairly common CJ mod here locally among competition jeepers.  With the coming of fuel injection it is not seen too often any more.

So if additional fuel gas won't help (EFI) then would a small amount of oxygen help? to increase the ambient oxygen in the atmospheric air from say 21-22% to 25-30%?

Isn't one of the big deals of NOS that it increases the density of the air fuel mixture so in essence it acts as a supercharger?

Nitrogen is mostly inert so the only real function of NOS is to put more oxygen into the mix.  Injecting pure oxygen could be pretty dangerous.

yep, you got it but it's like a turbo or supercharger on steroids. It's also endothermic so it cools down the mixture/chamber as well - so an added benefit. Propane doesn't serve the same purpose, it's a fuel so it's just like dumping more gasoline.

only time I ever heard of propane injection is on diesel cause it helps it burn faster never heard that for gas..
