Does any one know where I can get a wrangler emblem? I have spent hours online looking for the stock “WRANGLER” badge but no luck.
-
They haven't used those since 1990. Only plave I can think of is maybe Qtech or 4wd.com. Otherwise ebay. Have you thought about going with a post 90 look and use a sticker?
-
I would love to use the sticker but there is all this gunk left over from the one that fell off and I need to cover it.

Collin Bros Jeep (http://collinsbrosjeep.com/main.htm) Should have no problem finding one for you. You'll have to call him or Email. They do restorations so nipickin' stuff like that they're good at getting.

Try this guy on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160085224034
He could probably get want you are looking for.

Thanks guys,
I got a couple e-mails out and I am sure one of the recommended places will have one.
-
Ok so I went to Collins bros and to the guy on ebay and no one has one. I guess I will go to a junk yard and pull one off or something.
-
can someone post up a pic of this emblem i have no idea what it looks like
-
Just do Goo Gone and a Wrangler Decal (I bought a "YJ" Bright Silver Metallic set from these guys http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=020&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&viewitem=&item=300081519282&rd=1&rd=1). Has the early 90's "WRANGLER" font style for the YJ

I will try the goo gone thing. But I don’t want to mess up my paint job.
I just had it painted 40 days ago and the body shop took off the emblems, painted it, then used 3m double sided decal tape and stuck the old ones back on there. If I would of thought about it more I would have told them to just leave them off so I could use a newer modern sticker version version.
But a week after the paint job one of the decals fell off and I can not get the double sided tape off. It is thick and stiff and its on fresh paint.
I will take a pic and do a host and post when I get home.

spary some carb and choke cleaner on a rag, and thn rub off the sticky stuff and wipe it dry. works like a charm

Peanut butter works well. We use it to remove goo from my daughter's stickers.

On a fresh paint job? Go with the Goo Gone. WD40 might also work and not a solvent so it shouldn't take the paint off.

Peanut butter is awesome. I used it take off the wax residue on the fenders as well as mud stains. Blackened them up nicely. Adams stir works best.

wait...the paint guy used double stick tape to put the stickers back on....maybe he SHOULD be worried about the paint coming off.

It's not like the double stick tape is load bearing...

This double sided tape is not the crap you stick posters to the wall with, it’s the kind manufacturers use on the assembly line and it was what held it on originally. Most modern auto makers use it to hold on the trim, spoilers, moldings, etc.

any way,
my painter was going by code when he stuck it on using the tape, what he didn’t account for was someone pulling it off. I used to think that It fell off when I was driving but since I spoke with him he informed me that it would take allot more than wind to take it off. I am finding out now that they are rare. The places that I e-mailed told me that they don’t have any and have never had them, and furthermore they would reproduce them for me but Christler wont give them the rights.
I think I am just going to have to wait it out until one turns up somewhere.

The 3M tape is tough stuff. I have some on my dash for my GPS. If it was any tighter it will be screwed down. The problem is getting it to stick initially. If it's not pressed firmly down, it can be removed fairly easily. Although, who would want to steal a "Wrangler' name plate?
