This double sided tape is not the crap you stick posters to the wall with, it’s the kind manufacturers use on the assembly line and it was what held it  on originally. Most modern auto makers use it to hold on the trim, spoilers, moldings, etc.

any way,
my painter was going by code when he stuck it on using the tape, what he didn’t account for was someone pulling it off. I used to think that It fell off when I was driving but since I spoke with him he informed me that it would take allot more than wind to take it off. I am finding out now that they are rare.  The places that I e-mailed told me that they don’t have any and have never had them, and furthermore they would reproduce them for me  but Christler wont give them the rights.

I think I am just going to have to wait it out until one turns up somewhere.

The 3M tape is tough stuff.  I have some on my dash for my GPS.  If it was any tighter it will be screwed down.  The problem is getting it to stick initially.  If it's not pressed firmly down, it can be removed fairly easily.  Although, who would want to steal a "Wrangler' name plate?
