window Zipper repair kit

has anyone ever used one of these Zipper repair kits? Pros? cons?

The zipper on my pass side window doesn't mesh right (in areas) with the zipper pull. I had to stick a metal pick behind the pull (parallel to the doorskin) as I closed it to get them to mesh..I guess the pull is wore out. Lubricating with silicone didn't help.  I'm thinking these kits will be a great cheap alternative to replacing the doorskins. They've got them available for rear windows as well. I just might run down to Hobby Lobby to see if they have a similar kit.

No, I've never used that (link busted.  You can't just post a long url and have it work.  Use the URL tags and it will work.) BUT you might try to squeeze the tail end of the zipper a little.  What usually happens is that when you pull the zipper you end up pulling outwards This separates the two guides of the zipper and causes meshing problems after years of use. Squeexing them back together won't fix the problem completely but it will allow you to get more life out of them.  Otherwise you could have the whole zipper replaced at an upholstery shop.

Well I can't get the link to work, but if you do an Ebay search look for:

JEEP WRANGLER DOOR ZIPPER REPAIR KIT 2 #8coil/ slider

They also have the 10c for the rear windows. I'll give that tip a try before ordering these repair kits. Thanks
