I usually sit high enough that I don't need the visors but there are times when the sun it slow on the horizon and it's just a pain in the ass to see. TJ visors are better then the YJ/CJ visors since you can swing them outwards.
Basically all the YJ visor does is swing down. Well, here's how it usually goes. The sun's blazing and you can't see so you go to move the visor down. It's usually a bit tough so you use a bit mroe force then *pop*. Instead of lowering the visor you end up breaking it in half.
After taking the visor apart, I can see how cheaply they are made. They're really cheap. Just cardboard, some bent over sheet metal some vinyl and a couple J rods.The strip of metal has a loop bent into it that holds the rods. That's it. No fancy hinge. Oh and the cardboard is stapled to the sheet metal.
I'm going to have to figure out how to reattach them since I douby a swingline will work.
I'm thinking stainless steel pop-rivits and gorilla glue.
