The Daystar were made for M.O.R.E. back in the day.  But M.O.R.E.'s rubber 'bulletproof' one's were the next better after I got mine.

So there were for a 4.0L, and the mechanic I had working for me installed them for me.  He used like a million washers on one side of them to make them work.  I'm not sure what the issue was compared to my 2.5L...  And why a shorter bolt wasn't the answer...  All I know it that they've been in there for a few years and I've never had a problem.


Problem I had was really at idle but now that I'm getting used to the OEM, it was while moving also.  The dash would vibrate just enough.  If you have stock seats or stock type seats, these absorb much of the vibrations also.  Run a suspension seat and you'll feel everything.  You can see the problems with running a 4.0L mount set in a 2.5L if you check out the JKS/Currie install.  I talk about the differences between OEM and poly in the JKS Budget spacers review.

I can really tell at lauch the engine rolls a lot more and it feels a bit slugish off the line.  After running the OEM's I alsmost think the engine has died when I'm stopped.  Long trips, (+500mile) were a bit of a bear.  The vibrations would really beat you up. I do a lot of 300-500mile trips so it was a bit more important.  Not to mention, for some reason the vibrations from the engine were being transmitted directly to the exhaust and breaking hangers off left and right.  I've got the exhaust set up a bit differently but it should absorb the vibrations enough to stop it form happening.  Weird side effect that may have been caused by the sum of the engine mods.

Oh and there's the roof rack.  It would rattle violently at idle when empty.  Drove me crazy.  It was like having a monkey on the roof! :lol:

Wait a sec...  it's rattlin' the Jeep thing?

Like I said, and I agree, poly MML is too much if you didn't loctite every nut and bolt.  The rubber one's from M.O.R.E. are the way to go...

I'll go search for the JKS and see what I can pull up.

I searched the JKS and I do remember now (you'll get old too...  and forget like me).  I like that idea of spacing up the factory motor mounts (as long as they're in good condition).

I also searched M.O.R.E. and I can't see rubber lifted mounts, only poly...  Hummm....

Score another one for the JKS.

Now about the smooth ride and the G/F...  Funny thing, I made my Jeep a little difficult for my wife to drive.  She can do it (and has more times than I'd like to remember), but it scares me when she does.  

So if it was smooth, she'd take it more.  Especially on beautiful sunny days  :cry: That leaves me with the Suburban... yukk  :lol:

i have a bds 3.5 lift and 31s and with the soft top it measures 76 inches

i'm running 30s on stock wheels and stock suspension right now.  Thinking about installing a 2" spring spacer lift, getting new wheels and putting 31s or 32s on them.  

Anyone know what the tire size limit would be for a 2" spacer lift without it looking bad or causing issues? Any experience with what would look better overall?  Still in the research process I guess just looking for some input.  Thanks.

31's will clear nicely.  32's migth clear but I'd honestly go with 31's unless you want to buy new wheels too.

Thanks for the response.  and I just planned on getting new wheels because of how narrow the tires have to be on the stock wheels.

You will have no problem.  My jeep has a 2" suspension lift with 32 under it and I have lot of clearance.
