It time for new and bigger tires! :D
The problem is i still want to beable to park my jeep in my garage. The garage door height I think is 82", I could get an actual measurement tomorrow. Right now I think that I have about 10 or so inches for the top of my jeep to the top of the garage door. I have a soft top which adds a few inches, and stock suspension with 30" tires. I want a 3.5" lift and some 32 or 33. Does any have this setup that could measure the total height, or give me some advice on what to get? Thanks

This will give you about 4.5-5" of total lift as an estimate

That's pretty simple to figure out.

Tires; you'll want an actual height.  Most are under their labeled height.  AT's are generally off by .5" while MT's are off only by .3".  For every inch you go taller in tire size, actual lift will only go up by half.

30" -> 32" = .5" Lift

The thing about lifts is that most will be taller then what they say.  This is to account for settling.  So a 3.5" might be as tall as a 4.5" initially.  But using the most inflated numbers you're still only going up 5.5".

as this reminds me of when we got our inclosed trailer being scared that our jeeps wouldnt fit becasue of how tall they are. and it was ironic cuz the person was selling the trailer cuz he was using it for sports cars and he would botom out on the ramp up into it..

uhhhhh...wouldn't that be 1" of lift (30-32 is 2 inches difference equalling 1" of actual lift)???

btw....I'm going with the 4WD Hardware 3" lift combined with a 1" body lift.  I also bought a 1" engine lift...but I'm thinking I may not be able to install that until I get an SYE next year...maybe a belly up at the same time?

I'll run my 31's with the 4" of lift until I can go to 33's next year....don;t think my 4-banger and D30/35's would be happy with 35's...EVER!

Most lifts will come with Tcase lowering kit.  You might try that on there to get by with.

Yeah..it's included...just thinking ahead as the engine lift only costs about $60.

You could try to jsut use the Mm lift but you might run into the problem of your driveshaft being too short.

Which MM lift did you get?

JKS 1" MM lift...was the only one I could find (easily) that works with the 2.5L...every one listed on the most popular sites was for the 4.0L.

Actually ordered it from Quadratec...$50.

The JKS's are alright but you'll get a lot more vibrations with them then with the OEM's.

I have a BDS 3.5" lift with 1" longer shackles (1/2"of lift) and 33" mtr's on a 90 YJ and my garage door opens 80" with soft top up it still rolles in with about an 1" or so to spare.

As far as motor mounts lifts...  I'm running Daystar and as far as vibrations are concerned...  they've worked themselves out..

The Daystar were made for M.O.R.E. back in the day.  But M.O.R.E.'s rubber 'bulletproof' one's were the next better after I got mine.

So there were for a 4.0L, and the mechanic I had working for me installed them for me.  He used like a million washers on one side of them to make them work.  I'm not sure what the issue was compared to my 2.5L...  And why a shorter bolt wasn't the answer...  All I know it that they've been in there for a few years and I've never had a problem.
