Topic: Temp Gauge

I have a '93 wrangler 2.5L, the temp gauge is not working. It hasn't been working since I put the new engine in. I changed the temp sensor and it's still not working. Is there anything else it might be before I get a new gauge?Any thoughts?

I also broke a sensor in the back of the engine. If you are underneath the hood it would be in the back on the right. Does anyone know what this is? My stupid self can't figure it out! Not really sure if this has to do with the temp or not.

That 'sensor' you broke is the Temp sensor.  The one for the gauge.  The engine runs off the one on the thermostat.  The sensor should be on the head next to cylinder #4.

That makes a lot of sense: ) I've been to the parts store twice, and yes I'm an idiot, they told me that, that was the sensor i needed. Is there an "official name" for this sensor? I was told that it was the only sensor that ran to the gauge.

Nope for your e fan you need a temperature switch not a sensor. Ispro makes some or if there is room you can use one for the fan clutch of a big rig. those come on at around 185 to 190 degrees.

I have a temp switch that attaches to the radiator. I guess I'll have to stick with that for now. I was just looking for something that would look more stock.
