i can't remember that cable tensioner and not sure how it works but maybe that's the one - mine is off the jeep since i took the rear out so i can't really help on that one with a pic but someone else maybe could explain if that is pulling the cable back or not (or maybe a picture of that tensioner)

Well, the brake issue is now fixed; it seems like the cable retainers slided a bit both at the pedal and the equalizer, but they seem to be holding firm now, so I just adjusted the nut to the proper tension and whalah!

Since fuel pressure in the tank seems to be normal, that only leaves the fuel smell and bad sender; hopefully, I'll get a chance to drop by the auto parts store and get a new one before I leave, so I will only leave the fuel smell for my next trip to Panama (February).

Nah, sorry; that's kind of far...  From Costa Rica, you have to go through Nicaragua and El Salvador to get there, so it's probably a 30 hour drive or so from San José (and the Jeep is in Panama, 14 hours in the opposite direction).

I have BEEN there in the past, and it's nice, especially if you like diving.

Oil pressure guage - unplug the wire on the sender and see if the guage changes.  I am having the same problem but it is a ground somewhere.  I look for the problem every time it gets dry enough to crawl around my sons jeep.

I'll give that one a shot; I still have not fixed the Oil Pressure Gauge issue, so I'll try before replaccing the sender...  I also still need to drop the tank to make sure everything is nice and tight.  I wanted to drive the Jeep up to CR so that I would have more time to work on it, but I guess it's gonna have to wait until march.
