I went with radiatorclassic.  So far so good, they answered a couple of questions pretty fast and had free shipping.  amcdiscounts also replied promptly but with shipping it would have been a bit more expensive.

I just got a sandwich type one with thermostat...  I'll hook it up later on.  This with the eFan and DCC controller should keep the engine nice and cool when wheeling on a hot Panamanian day (over 100*).

which one did you get?

I got this one; according to the description and the seller, it works for all applications that use the Fram PH16 filter (which we use).

You should still be able to use a PH8A on there.  Might not be able to go with the bigger one though.

I'm looking at several from RadiatorGuys, Radiators4Less and radiatorclassic.  I'm not really sure what's the difference.  They all seem to look very similar and they all seem to say they get them from the factory and not a middle-man.  The ones that are said to be US made are $100 more then the others.  I'm not sure how a warranty would work either.

the ones in the $100 to $150 range with aluminum welded tanks are made in China.

Yeah, but what isn't these day's.  They do make some good things there.  I think as long as it's preen pressure tested and there is some sort of warranty, it should be fine.  Although for $200, you can have a US made one...  $137 shipped is hard to beat though.

most likely the core on the $200 one is made in China too - i don't see how it can't be considering the price. if you look at the racing rads they are $500 or more.

i was just stating the obvious with the made in China rads, it is pretty much a given for everything that is dirt cheap nowadays, although India seems to step up to the plate too but i found that the quality is most of the times better on the Chinese products (but not top notch). My intercooler was also made in China and it is actually really nice and was sold at lower price due to scratches on one of the tanks, i looked at a brand new one here in a racing auto parts store - looks exactly the same, the core seems identical (inside and out) - the one i got was under $100, the one in the store was something like $700 if not more and other than the logo on it was the same thing (on the positive side the logo was engraved in the tank, not painted) .

The biggest issue with things made in China is Quality Control.  Companies that order stuff need to do batch checks and refuse sub-par products.  For most of us though, we don't need race quality stuff.  The biggest difference I see is the use of cross-flow instead of the top down like we usually see.
