Pricing something is a personal choice. Sometimes, what others pay is one extreme compared to what oneself would consider to pay.
To bolt something in, not a worry to regear the front axle to match, is worth what to you? If you do your own labor work, consider you are saving ~$60/hr for that.
In comparison, 8.8s go for upwards of $400 for the axle complete. Bracket kits are $300, welding them on ~$100 by someone else. If the gearing matches your front axle, then it's completely bolt in. Then there is the little concerns of rear ds matching, brakes due to discs on the rear axle (if), you know, just the little stuff.
I myself, know a few that could weld the brackets on. I've picked up a complete 8.8 for $200 (though 3.27's). Once I get it regeared and locked (4.88/Detroit), I'll determine if I go with coils/link or leafs. If I go coil, then either choose stock configuration or a 3/4 link to rid of the track bar all together.
