passanger side inner axle seal

ok so i replaced the 2 piece axle shaft a few years back to a single piece one but now its leaking :brick: i tried to install a new seal in the passanger side of the axle tube right beside the carrier and it bent all to heck installing and is still leaking after searching on here ive seen that there isnt a seal for this location on the 2 piece shafts so do i just need to replace the one where the disconnect box use to be?  does anyone have the part number for that seal?

They have the other years and models too.  on this one look at #26.

thats the one i tryed to put in it this last time and its still leaking do you know if it would maybe go by what the shaft itself is out of? only problem with that is i have no clue what they took it out of other than i believe they said it was a cherokee

Just maybe since youbent the 1st one up maybe you should put in one not bent.

I've heard that there are multiple different diameters of seals for the passenger side of the carrier. figuring out which one your axle needs is the hard part. (ounce you find the kist of what possible seals it could be)

This is the info I've run across: 471763 a National number same for Carquest and Oriellys

yea i gess i have the wrong ID for it becouse it didnt just bend on one side the whole lip after the step up bent in i to make itself smaller im gonna pull it apart this weekend and see if i can find a way to measure the ID of it then comes the fun part of trying to find the right one parts are a pita to find in germany thanks for all the help

This is one that goes in the axle disconnect housing when using a TJ shaft in a YJ D30.

i'm pretty sure the 2 piece axle uses 2 seals on the passenger side, with a 1 piece you only need the inner one if i'm not mistaking.

i'm not so sure about my statement above anymore, i will look in the FSM to see if i can find a parts list, seems that they use only 1 seal in the disco housing on the ones with axle disconnect, i have no idea if you can actually install one in the diff housing like in the TJs with 1 piece axle, if the axle does not have the seal seat machined for the disconnect seal position then would probably leak.

I have read in various forums that some YJ D30 have a seat by the diff and some do not.  In any case, it seems the safe bet is to put a seal at the disco housing anytime TJ shafts are used.

would the 1 piece shaft have the smooth surface for the seal in that place to properly seal (couldn't avoid the repetition) since is supposed to have the seal by the diff?

I think the aftermarket axles sold as "disconnect eliminator" have a proper sealing surface, but not the stock TJ shafts.
