it's a fast skip and i don't know why or what's casuging it.
idle is also somewhat high but that might be a vacuum problem although i think i have all my vacuum leaks fixed. i have the large vacuum port on the tb going to my pcv. i have the 2nd largest vacuum port on the tb going to my 4wd. the other two ports are the same size..... one of those ports is capped and the other goes to the MAP. are these int he wrong places? do i need to rearrange them possibly? i have no egr or chacoal canister, everything is emilinated. the agr is blocked off at the intake manifold.
i just replaced my MAP and TPS and CAS.
i replaced the coil, dizzy, cap, rotor, plug wires, installed champion truck plugs gapped to .035", and i reset the timing sinc ei thought maybe it was off but it wasn't.....
is it possible my cam timing is off? don't know much about the internals on these motors but on a typical honda the timing BELT can skip a tooth after it's aged a bit and that would cause a similar problem. this engine has a chain though, correct?
if there is a writeup somewhere on replacing that i'd appreciate a link... or at least a way to check to see if it is timed correctly. i don't even know where the chain is... i assume it's on the front of the motor but i don't see where it would be hiding unless it's "Deep" in there....
the skip sounds like a dirt bike... it's really fast while i hold the throttle to maintain speed but as soon as i romp on my skinny pedal it goes away completely. at idle it's running pig rich. i've replaced the o2 sensor, but i have no cat so this may be somewhat normal.
maybe this is a fuel pressure problem? too low and the pops are b/c it's so lean? like a bad fuel map?
i'm lost guys.... just trying to consider some possibilities... this motor is really making me angry.
-Erik <--- really hating this throttle body injected 4 banger right now
