4.0l TB swap. Added a bit more power to mine. Not a lot but enough to notice.

electric fan swap would be first on my list...

if you have access to a machine shop or someone that does boring the tb to 50 mm realy helps bring the tbi 2.5l to life. but its a one off thing unlike the 4.0l tb swap that the mpfi guys can do.

Not sure of the setup of the 89 but perhaps, if it has a carb then spacer, opening up the opening for intake manifold? Msd ignition coil or something along those lines. Better spark plugs and wire. Perhaps a performance distributor cap and rotor. New fuel filter helps. Different blower motor for the heater (pretty toasty mod)

The E fan will help free up a few ponies. If you can do synthetic oil, that helps things move a lot better.

If carberated, is it possible to swap in fuel injected intake manifold and throttle body and add in the electrical components???

'89 is a TBI.
there are more differences than just the intake manifold for MPFI conversion: Cyl head, cam, fuel pump, filter, inside/outside wiring harness, temp sender for ECU, distributor and cam position sensor in it and i think but not sure the pistons are also different.

I agree.  While an electric fan won't give you any HP, it does free up some HP lost by the fan.

Basica like a hi-flow cat and a cat-back exhaust will also help.

i think his point was that you don't have a 4.0 and didn't go out to town with 5 buddies to get one

hope it's clear enough this time

Joking or not, I don't take kindly to the suggestion. We all work hard for our toys. If he should pilfer someone, offer up your stuff first is my point. AGUHR could use a skid plate. Khvnp1l0t could use a radio.
