Found this tonight while working, thought it was very interesting.  Figured others might not have seen it.  My apologies if you have.

I mentioned it in the other thread the other day actually.  I think it's probably one of the cheaper options IF you want both fans to run.  You can spend $3-5 on a relay and $20 on the thermal switch and fall well short of what the Volvo switch costs.  Oh and you still need a HD relay for it as well.

Update on this, I couldn't stop thinking about how cool this was (to me anyway).  So I started looking at junkyard and struck gold,  I got the coolant pipe adapter (late 80's Saab) 3 Volvo relays, temp sensor (Audi) and the Taurus Fan (3.0 not 3.8 so got to trim it to fit but it is 2 speed).  About $45 total including some wiring and actual connectors.

I ordered a new sensor from RockAuto. $14. (Insurance)
I'm going to either cut the shroud or do the flex-a-lite relocator plate.

I also got a electric fan from a newer Saab and the Lincoln mark VIII
Just in case I like them better additional $20 for those.

So next 4 day stretch that I'm off might do it dunno yet,  wife's 05 Pt Cruiser Turbo is about to hit 90k stealer reccomends doing timing belt, so might do that first.

and yet you could have bought the hayden adjustable (a plus) dual speed from amazon for $45 which comes with the probe, wiring, relays and fuse, but it's fun to mcgiver something so i understand the "rush" of doing it yourself

LoL, you know the deal.  Sometimes it's not fun if it's easy.

Now that timing belt on the other hand is going to S**K!!

it should be easier than replacing the timing chain in a Jeep though
