Seeing as the Kubota V2403 makes ~60hp and 121 ft-lbs of torque and weights 441 lbs I have to agree with you that it seems that there are much better options for engine swaps even if they find the kubota for dirt cheep. What would be interesting (but very expensive) is a chevy 2.7l swap from their new half tons (348 ft-lbs from 1500-4000 rpm). Would be interesting for jeep to offer a similar engine in the wrangler but they went the mild hybrid route which I'll reserve comment on as I haven't driven one....
