Hello everybody,
 Always wanted a Jeep, but never wanted a 4cylinder or one with square headlights. So of course my first purchase is a 91 Wrangler with square lights and a 2.5L. Oh well it has been a blast so far. Came across this sight while looking for ways to increase my HP. As for me I am 38,married for 19 years,Two daughters and have 4 wheel fever. Located in Georgia.

Hey everyone! I am new to the 4banger site. I have had my 97 tj for 6 years now and ive got a 4inch lift some 33 mudders pacesetter headers, magnaflow off road exhaust, aem intake and a nice big stinger in the front.

hey all looks like Im the newbe to this forum. It seems like the place for me however as i am the proud owner of a black 1998 TJ se. Lifted and with a long list of goodies. Ive had her for about seven years and 80,000 miles. A daily driver up until recently. I always have an open ear to advice, and am happy to share what knowledge i have, as I have done every modification to the jeep myself. I am not a rich man so many of the upgrades ive done were on a tight budget or junk yard finds. if anyone hails from the north west hit me up for some trails, im always glad to hear of new ones.

New to 4bangerjp but not new to forums or jeeps. I currently have a 1993 ZJ and a 1991 YJ. I do all of my own maintence, repair and fabrication. I have been in the automotive industry in one form or another for 25 years. I am currently in the industrial side. I worked at a jeep dealer about 12 years ago as an ASE master auto tech specializing in automatic transmissions. I will be happy to answer any questions or help in any way I can.

Greetings everyone!! This site looks like fun, came up on a search for more power for the 2.5L  and voila! 
Its got  a lot of good info that will help along the way, Rasta ain't rich or nothing, but InI know da way around Jeeps and i like to get my hands dirty.
So far: 3.5" suspension lift and some 33's, adj. track bars , exhaust , 63mm throttle body, new radiator? hey, it helps a lot when the Jeep is nice and cool. seen? Specially here in South Florida>> Respect to all a them 4 banger Jeep owners!!!

Hey how are you guys doin?  I just joined.  I have a 1993 YJ that I just got done installing a 4.5 Rubicon Express lift kit on and I am finding that I need more horsepower on the open road that being said the YJ does great off road.  Thanks for having Me.

Hello everyone. I'm Spike from Portland Oregon. I have my lil 85 2.5 XJ with an ax-5 running 31.10-50's and a 3" lift. I usually hang out on an XJ forum, but there really isn't much 2.5 tech so I found you guys.    This is my second 2.5 I blew up something electrical on my first one and could never find it. So I now have spare parts for well almost everything I can.

Hope this is the right place to post. BIG HELLO to everyone!!  Have a couple of XJs with I6s, The boy just picked up a 85 XJ with a 2.5 that had been sitting for 10 years and now we're exploring the world of the mighty 4 banger.

Go by  GrumpGy cause I a retired Marine GySgt, Grumpy well cause I had to retire.

94 Wranger with 2.5  31.5 tires 1" body lift 1.5 lift via shackles.

  Had not been using it since 2006 Had By-Pass Surgery in Dec 05.  But the old jeep heater would not keep me warm in the winter here in Oregon.  Was really Anemic after the surgery.  So I bought a 2000 GMC Sierra really nice truck, heater worked great.

  Did not try to drive the jeep till summer 06 found that I had steering problems the jeep was all over the road.  Must have been correcting for it and just never noticed.  But after driving this truck it flat scared me. On drove 3 miles to the gas station and back and parked it.

  I'm back getting it on the road if the weather will just hold.  Replacing all Bushings under it Stabilizer will be replaced.shocks already done.  Shackle lift kit with way better shackles.  Rear Track bar will replaced.  I was broadsided and the Rear diff took the hit they replaced the rear end but not the track bar.  Also the front U joints I found were bad, that's why I'm waiting for the rain to stop so I can replace them.

  Just got done with engine mods Inj, coil, wires and plugs, throttle body 4.0 and spacer plate. Cold air intake.  Will do header later and match throttle body to intake at that time also will pick up the fuel regulator you guys have in another part of this forum.

New member from Hamilton, Ontario Canada. Been on other forums but never came across this one but when I did I joined right away! Well a little about my rig and I. I'm the proud owner of a 1998 Jeep TJ 2.5L LO (Low Output) SE (auto tranny :( ) This was  my first ever vehicle that was all mine, and was the basis for me getting into building things and buying tools! Since buying this thing5 years ago, I've gotten it up to 236,000km or about 147,000 miles for you Americans with no major engine or transmission repairs necessary. Here's a list of the modifications I've made to date.

3.5" RE lift
33" BFG KM2s on 15x8 steel rims
4.56 gears
Aussie locked front and rear
Crossover steering
Warn front and rear bumpers
Custom tire swing
LED tail lights
CJ tailgate
HID Headlights
Superwinch 8500
HiFlow coldair intake, spacer and 4L throottle body
Ford Taurus Electric Fan

Hi, I'm David and I have a Jeep problem.  Let me start by saying that I don't have a 4 banger Jeep......I drive an 07 JKU, BUT, both my wife and daughter wheel 4-banger TJs.  The daughter's is a 98 with the 2.5 and an automatic transmission.  Currrent mods include 2" RC lift, sliders, RC steering stabilizer, Genright steering box skid, Durango steering box, Currie steering, front Tom Woods driveshaft, JK Rubicon wheels, Spidertrax spacers/adapters, 32" BFG MTs, Cobra CB, Linex'd tub, RC adjustable rear track bar, Tomken winch plate and Smittybilt SRC8000 winch, Hella lights, Hi-Lift anfd mount and finally JKS discos.  Most of the stuff was bought used so we have very little money in it given how capable it is.  My wife's is an 06 with a six speed manual and the Neon motor.  We just bought it last week (mostly so the two of them would stop fighting over seat time) so it's still mostly stock.  it's very low miles and in perfect condition.  We had the dealer throw a set of 31" Duratracs on it and we've already found a good set of used sliders as well as Teraflex discos.  Future mods include a two inch lift, Nth degree tummy tuck, SYE, etc.

Anyway........this looks like a great place for me to do some research on what makes a 4 banger wheel better.  Thanks for having me!
