Replacing Fuel Pump this weekend. 90 YJ
« on: October 19, 2006, 11:36:40 AM »
I will be changing my fuel pump this weekend.  Any tips from those of you that have done this before would be greatly appreciated.  1990 YJ 15 gallon tank.  Is there any calibration to the guage to be done afterward?  Do I worry about fuel pressure in the rest of the system? Ect.....

Thank You for your time.

I don't have a TBI, but from what I understand, the pump is located on the block rather then in the tank.  You shouldn't have to calibrate it.

Thanks guys for the information.  I replaced the fuel pump and it is in the tank.  It was pretty simple.  Drain the tank, drop the tank, pull the pump, replace the pump, and install the tank.  (In a nutshell)

Next is the new exhaust.  HE HE HE HE can’t wait!

Good luck finding the 1" fill, and the 3/4" vent line.  I still haven't found one.  I did replace all the other lines though.  Had to butcher them to get them off.  The new ones went one real easy though.

Hey Jeffy,  what is a "TBI".
