« on: November 30, 2006, 08:15:18 PM »
Looking for and upgrade for my 35 and im yhinking about a toyota rear end.  has anyone done this or know anything about toyota axles??  would this be a reasonable swap?? it out of a 95 toyota 2wd i think.  they are about 58"-58 1/2" wide so they are pretty close to the width of the 35.

well i found a toyota 8" IFS Rear that has 4.10 gears and is 58" wide for $100.

Does this sound like a goos deal?  How much do these axles usually sell for?

Also are the spring peches anywhere close to matching or will I definitely have to relocate them for proper pinion angle?

What is the axle from, Tacoma, 2wd, etc...  I'd say the price is right depending on what it came out of.

I had an 86 toy pickup that I beat the crap out of and the frame broke before anything else. They're not built as cheply as you think. (other than the thin rust prone body).

Depending on which Toy 8" you get, the R&P size will vary.  I believe there are three types.  The Basic Toy 8's, the V6/Turbo and the Tacoma.  Some parts aren't interchangeable.  I believe shafts are though.  So you cna swap from 6 on 5.5" to 5 on 4.5" if you wanted to.  Lockers will be dependent on the axle also.
