Thanks all.  I love my Jeep.

My sister swore up and down that her Toyota and Honda was better than any Jeep would ever be a few winter's ago because of it's long lasting motor. So I told her to do the toyota jump out her car in the snow. Ha ha ha. I told her that not many Minnesotans would sympathize with her.

For you young crowd, the old Toyota commercials had a an actor get out of the Toyota whatever, and Jump high up in the air with hands and legs stretched out far in an x pattern.

I don't use any weight in the back either, one thing I would reccomend is a little bit of jakebraking. Not sure if you have a standard or auto but I have a 5spd manual and as far as braking goes a little jake breaking (you know downshifting letting engine help slow you down) keeps you from sliding and helps you stop when its slick out.  Four wheel drive is great too, the thing to remember is the jeep does have a short wheel base its not like driving a full size truck where you can fish tail all over the place without worry, in a wrangler if you fishtail too much your liable too loose control and do a complete 360, I have done a few of these in both in 2wd and 4wd this year while driving too fast on frozen lakes
