The Wrangler Looong
« on: February 26, 2007, 08:01:27 PM »
After the CJ-8 ended production in 1986, it left a hole in the market.  Many foreign countries wanted a bigger, longer Jeep.  These were never available in the US, unfortunatly.

This the the Egyptian TJ-L that led to the making of the Unlimited.  It's also a predecessor to the JK Unlimited with the CRD in the other post.

I really like the YJ-L's too.  Their wheelbase isn't as stretched as the TJ-L's are.  It's more like a CJ-8.  The TJ-L's, I believe are longer then the CJ-6's.  The extra room of the body would be awesome for a long camping trip or a family outing.  I really like how the stock 15x6's look with 31's on them too.  Now all I have to do is lower my Jeep and throw on some 31's onto my stock wheels and I'd have the perfect gearing again!

I've been looking for a CJ8 myself but, My pockets are not deep enough for Ebay CJ8's.

I use the misch big boy seat brackets in my Jeep, and I can hardly use my short top really. It pushes the seat back 4" so a person who is 6'5" probably could fit in a Tj.
