Topic: front brakes??

was driving down the road the other day and noticed my jeep was pulling hard to the right and when i pushed on the brakes it would quit.when i got home you could smell brakes really bad come to find out my front right brake is sticking on.ckeck the brake fluid its all wright ckecked the lines they seem to be okay.left it a lone and went to drive it later to figure out what was going on it wount do it .two days later it did it again on my way to work got back from work and it wasnt sticking any more does any one no what is causing this?

Sounds like a bad caliper to me.

yep calipers getting stuck,.. or maybe something's stuck in it. either way pull the wheel and take a look.

ya i better do it before it sticks on for good and i`am away from my house.wounder if you can flush them out or if it would be better to just go ahead and by new ones for both sides and save me a headache later on.

My '95 did the same thing the other day but now it is working fine.  Will be looking into rebuilding the calipers soon.

I don't even bother rebuilding them.  I just buy reman.  They're $18 each.  I've had one caliper stick while on the freeway.  Drove a mile with it stuck.  It sucked.  I had to downshift into 3rd just to stay above 45mph on a level road.  When I got home I had to literally pound it off the disc.  It was on there good.  The metal expanded as it cooled.  it was a real PITA.  The second time the other side locked up while headed to a trail.  I ended up taking the caliper off right there and clamping it off on the leafspring.  I had to drive 20 miles after the trail run.  That was interesting.  Since the front brakes do 90% of the braking and I only had one I wasn't really stopping fast.  Not to mention it pulled hard to the side.  I had to be really careful driving back.  At least I had a working clutch this time around...

Yea just get remans and use yours as cores. i had both of mine stick on me a few months after i bought the jeep.

That's where I bought mine from.  Be aware that their prices are sometimes significantly lower then in-store.  I've bought a water pump from them that was $20 less then their in-store price.  Brand new, not a rebuilt.  The other good thing is that if the part has a warranty, you won't have to worry about keeping the receipt.  They are all kept in your account at partsamerica.com which is a big plus.

Yup, takes about 30-45 minutes for them to get it ready.
