If you spend any extended amount of time in your Jeep then you'd be better off spending the extra $$$ for decent seats.

I agree with the general statement you Get what you Pay for. Jeffy Do you think this seat would be easier to get in & out of than the Mastercraft seat you are using? I like the Mastercraft style but the seat looks like it's to deep for a DD.
My jeep goes about 3000 miles a year as a DD. My stock seats are worn out and repaired with Idaho leather (ducktape) and 8ball seat covers. My line of thought is (Nice looking Seat for the money wonder how long it will last) with the contrasting gray & black color scheme and shoulder & mid high seat bolsters and reclines. Looking for different points of view to help me make a choice. I really like the looks of that Seat & cost is always a main point for me to consider but not the only factor to consider.
Best Top trialmaster seats are on my Like list also.

Well, since I have to climb into my Jeep just to get in, plopping down into the seat isn't that big of a deal.   Once I'm in though, I'm not rolling around.  That's one of the biggest complaints I have with OEM seats.  They're just too wide and flat for me.

I love suspension seats and it will be hard for me to go back to the old spring box seats.  The suspension seat is much more ergonomic and puts less pressure on your butt/back.  I've done 500-700 mile drives with no back pain to speak of.  The other good thing about suspension seats is that they breath a whole lot better then stock type seats.  This is great if you happen to soak the seat.  No more soggy backside. Oh and from what I understand my seats are rebuildable if the need arises.  My stock seats never reclined.  I don't have any problems with my Rubicons since they are angled back a bit more.

I have Mastercraft but there are many who prefer PRP seats.  They are a bit cheaper and make a lower seat.  Beard also makes a similar seat.

I've heard that the quality can be questionable on some of the ebay seats.  You might consider other OEM seats and adapt them to your seat mount.  Later TJ seats are rather comfy compared to the earlier ones, especially if you have a YJ or CJ.  Some cars used nice Recaro designed seats too.  I also liked the Subaru Impreza WRX TR or RS seats.  People usually replace these.

The only consideration is if you have a wide center console.  I believe my stock seats were around 18-20" wide.  My Rubicon's are 22" and required me to stagger the seat a bit outboard to clear the console.  Still, it's a bit tight to open the console.  If you have half doors then this is also another consideration since the half doors are usually a bit wider then the full doors.  I usualyl flipped the window in while I still had the door open since it's a bit tougher to get it between the door and seat.

I have had my Corbeau seats for a little over a year and I am still very happy with them. I was a little concerned about ease of entry being a DD too but I don't mind it at all having the high bolster. Your ass definitely stays put. I had a problem with the piping cracking on one seat and their customer service was awesome. They sent another set of covers free of charge so I have a spare. They are also rebuildable. I wanted the Mastercrafts, but they were just too pricey at the time and since the wife was buying I was not complaining. Cost was about 380.00 for the pair shipped. I too will never go back to a spring box seat.

my two cents, i'm 6'1" 240, and in my little dj with a 4" and sua, i use pontiac sunfire seats. they have a good bucket to them and plenty of back support. the only thing i don,t like is that thier cloth, but covers can fix that.

if you go to a junkyard ans look for seats out of a mustang camaro or firebird, or even a sunfire, its usually cheaper and has good support for on and off road becuase of the way those cars are suppose to handle. all you need to worry about is mounting them, but anybody with any fab skills can do it.

my seats and mounts, all in all, 62 bucks. and i love them better then the besttops in my daily.

Check out the link for the post I did alittle while ago.  I was forced to get new seats a few months ago and I love the ones I got.  I have getting in and out down so it doesn't both me to have higher bolsters but thats something you should think about.  I'm in the Marine Corps so Im pretty athletic but if the spare tire is getting to be an oversize tire then maybe you shouldn't get anything with high bolsters.  Cheers. :thumb:

P.S. The link for the website that I got them from should be in the post.  My seats shipped straight from the Corbeau factory.

That reminds me, I added up all the little things required to run those seats and they are not cheap.  $89 each for the mounts and $39 each if you want double lock sliders.  That pushes the cost to $696.  So keep track of those little things required to install the seats.  It might offset the lower cost of them.

Me, I got some stock original vinyl tan seat surfaces from Ebay (allegedly sitting in a dealership's storage are for the last 13 years) and had them installed.  They look original, but like all stock seats, don't breath for sh#$.

The moisture probably helps cause the threading to wear and the seats to come apart after about 100,000 miles of use.  So, I spent 25$ including shippin on some of these bamboo type seat cushions that keep you 1/2 inch of the seats and let the air circulate so you don't sweat. I like it ok.  I don't have any plans to get too far from stock with this 4Banger.  But the Recaro and other seats are real nice for you guys that got'em.

It was $610 with free shipping and the wife paid for her seat so like $300.  I was happy with that deal.
