squeezing some power..talk to me
« on: August 30, 2007, 04:52:55 PM »
Hey guys, I hav 6 inch lift, 35s  and 4.88's so obviously I wanted some power uprgrades and I got my self a flowmaster and a banks header and a nice intake and I really havent seen any great changes. .. my next move is the 4.0 TB. With my 4.0 HO i got such a difference with the flowmaster and the air intake and i was on 3.07s with 32s and i could spin the tires(  also was a stick). theres really no point to this thread... anyway get a good gain out of anything else i could try?  thanks

zirgo makes a killer 16" electric fan that pulls a rediculous amount of air and doesn't pull near the amps that a taurus fan would... and if i remember right the zirgo actually pulls about the same cfm or maybe just slightly more...  you can find them on eBay for $120ish shipping for the top of the line 16" zirgo

i run a 16" advance auto parts "Imperial" fan.... it cools my 2.5 fine.... and it will cool my 4.0 just as well once i ditch this gutless box of squirrels next month, hehe

controlling the fan is almost MORE important than the actual fan itself.... their are some half-assed ways to do it... do it RIGHT.  use a thermoswitch plumbed into your cooling system.  use a quality relay... etc.  I like the SPAL fan wiring kit personally... it's yet to fail in any way :)

Do you have an auto?  I think the 5.38's are a perfect match for my 5spd and 35" and 36" tires.

Nope.  the grand will be obd i  while your jeep is obd ii.  It'll be missing the map sensor.  Find one from a 96 or newer 4.0 engine.

you can't put 5.38's in stock axles anyway... why would that even be a suggestion?

Who say's he's running stock axles?  He's already running 35's and that would be marginal at best with the D35.

Mine did also stock. When I lifted and added discos, I added hose clamps on the inside of the frame mounts on both sides. Haven't had a problem in 4 yrs.
