Sylvania Silverstars are cheap replacement seal beams.  You could step up to some H3's from IPF or Hella.  Delta also makes some too.  One problem with H3's is that they do not like moisture.  The lights aren't sealed and the bulb needs to stay dry or else it will burn out prematurely. Something to keep in mind.

Oh and there are some 'drop-in' Xenon lights but they aren't DOT legal and made from Halogen housings.

Another consideration is to install some aux. lights.  Better lights, patterns and visibility.

I used a pair of sylviana xtra vision halogen headlights and a pair of relais made a big difference in brightness and
and was not expensive the lights are about 9 bucks each at autozone and they have the relais as well. Direct battery power to the headlights definitely makes them brighter and the halogen lights give some more lights for about 30 bucks in all was not a bad investment. I am atleast very happy with it

How much did they cost you? I was thinking about some sylvania silver stars. They are only $20 each at walmart.

i'm really happy with my silverstars for the price. they were $20 each. cheap easy upgrade.

That was the cheap part.....2 headlight housings are cheaper than the bulbs???

I have been running a couple of Delta Xenon headlights I got from Quadratec, and they are running fine...  Of course, I also added some KC Daylighters for when I get the high beams on, and some KC Slimlite Fog Lamps that I typically run whenever I got my lights on...  That REALLY improves my vision at night!

I've been thinking about doing this myself. It's actually my planned christmas present to myself, getting a better pair of headlights so that I can actually see at night.

I've been researching a few, and while cost isn't an option for safe night driving for me, I've pretty much decided on this:

It's the Delta Xenon replacement. I'm hoping that these last me a long time basically.

Basically I want the best front lighting that I can when I'm driving at night on the road, because it makes a world of difference. Right now a car can pull up behind me and cast a shadow over my lights they are so dim.

In case you are interested (and have access to it), JP magazine recently rated about 10 different lights for Jeeps.  You may want to take a look at it before commiting.  HAving said that, I have those lights, and I am happy with them (but then again, I have only compared them to the stock lights; I never compared it to the others that JP Magazin tested them).

I tried looking for the article online, but did not find it...  Anyway, I can dig up the article and give you the condensed results if you want.
