is hooking the wiring up for the adjustable thermastat very tough? i hate messing with electrical but if its not that bad i can get a taurus fan off a car at work for free.

Mine was apice of cake...  Just insert the the temp senser between the radiator fins...

also does the year of the taurus matter on the e-fan ????

I understand it should be an early '90s model...  Mine was '96 I think.

My Taurus fan bolted right up on one side, and used 2 90º brackets on the other side to bolt between the fan shroud and radiator.  Used all 4 threaded holes that were already in the radiator.  Barely noticeable.

If you're worried about appearance, IMO it looks a lot better than the oem fan shroud.

If I do that...I have to fab up a bracket for a Power Steering and the coolant tank....

That's the basic setup.  It's a slightly different fan but the motor is the same.  Taurus fans aren't all alike.  You need a 3.6L V6 fan.  Hooking up a thermostat would be pretty easy.  You'd have to install it between the relay and the fan.  If you had an adjustable thermostat, that might require a bit more wiring but not much.

If I do that...I have to fab up a bracket for a Power Steering and the coolant tank....

Then the FoMoCo fan isn't for you.  You'll have to get a universal fan that you could be able to mount inside the existing shroud.  You will need to fabricate some basic brackets still though.  No free lunches here, I'm afraid.

Other option would be to get a 2.4L electric fan but that's not going to be cheap.
