Mine are .25"x4"x4" angle with a section of 2"x2" tube attached, making for a 6" skid across the bottom of the rocker.  Makes for a decent step and tree/rock standoff.

My sliders are welded to the frame...from JCR Offroad in Kalamazoo Michigan.

I'll throw a Full Traction engine skid on there eventually.....

Definitly time to upgrade to an aftermarket fuel tank skid.

Wow, rockers AND sliders...

I've got classic 3" shorty nerfs.  I haven't really had a need to replace them so I haven't.  I want to replace them with Rocker and a flip-down cleat.

bounty hunter, i really like your skids/ rocker guards.. they look good, are functional, and fairly simple to make... i may have to make a pair of those for my jeep...

They work well on the YJ, very solid.  The forward two bolts are fore and aft of the firewall, lots of strength there.  The rearmost bolt is about 4" long as it goes through the boxed section of body where the seatbelt mounts, more rigidity there as well.  They've taken some hard hits on rock and never a problem.

My gas tank skid looks like the above pic too, tapers up quite a bit on one side.  Don't hit it as much since the SOA.  Hit it so hard once I bent the fuel pump sending unit over, and the jeep quit about halfway home from the offroad park.  Pounded out the skid with a sledge, and the poly tank pops right back into place.

Here is what I did with my 97 stock gas skid plate. Replaced it with an late model gas skid plate which I doubled up.

I modded the gas tank in the process to gain couple more gallons of capacity.

Here are some pics of the gas tank skid... look to the drivers side...

I have the 4XDOC Rocker panels with step (simular to Shrocworks but cheaper and come painted) and really like them sturdy enough to use as a jack point (have done it several times now).

I made these with my Warns... I didn't want to put more holes in my tub.

I still have to put a support in the center. Made them with 1.75 x .250 tube. Most are .134.
I have a kilby G.T. skid.

Shouldn't need much support with .250".

^ x2 ^

I would weld in a plate similar to the AtoZ rockers for a better step and call them good.
