Radiator Help! 911!!!
« on: July 21, 2008, 02:28:23 AM »
So I just pulled into my driveway, shut the ignition off, and I hear all of my radiator fluid dumping in the floor. I went wheeling today, just a moderate trail, and I didn't hit a thing. All of my hoses are connected, and I wasn't overheating. It appears to be coming out of the top or bottom seals...does anyone know why this could happen?? I am pretty sure I'll need a new one. About how much could a new one be?

Thanks everyone....

It can be that the thermostat casing has come loose...  Or the radiator itself broke.  Do you have the one with the plastic tanks?  Those tend to be problematic, I have heard...

Pretty common to separate where the plastic tanks attach to the metal radiator.

I went with an all metal radiator from www.radiatorbarn.com , best price and lifetime warranty.

Hmm, that makes more sense...  I was trying to figure out what 'seals' he was referring to.

I never had the tanks leak but I still ended up getting a new radiator on trade.  I think it was from Radiatorbarn or the other online place...  Metal tanks.
