When you replace the rubber hose on the gas line, make sure it is rated for use as fuel line. It also helps to wet it thoroughly with Armor All or whatever protective spray you prefer. When ever you are under the Jeep to lube the U-joints, or change oil, spray it again. You don't have to take off the fuel filter skid plate; just spray generously over the edge. You should clean out most of the mud and dirt first... Those hoses will last a long time with a little care.
