Anyone has experience with VDP (Vertically Driven Products)?
« on: September 01, 2008, 01:56:50 PM »
Spring is coming and I want to remove the hardtop, i don´t want a full soft top so i have been looking at bikinis.
Has anyone used/heard/seen this?

Hmm, VDP seems to be a marketing company.  All they do is choose other smaller mfg's to sell under their name.  Think Steel Horse, Smittybilt (circa >2000), Rugged Ridge, etc...

No experience with that top but I've had a Bestop Bikini top.  I've driven through light and heavy rain with it with no problems.  I'm not sure if I'd go with mesh if you get rain.  Also, when it's really hot, you might want more coverage then mesh as well.  +100* and I'm still doing OK.

Are you in the southern hemisphere?  I've had my hardtop off since May.  I'll probably be forced to put it back on next month.

Yes, i live in Chile. During spring-summer we don´t get rain and the average high temp. is 86F in summer. I've had my hardtop on since i bought the jeep (may), not that it makes a lot of difference because i've got a lot of rain leaks  :naughty:

If the Bestop provides more protection i think i will go for that one, besides, they go for more or less the same price.

Thanks Jeffy! :thumb:

Haven't seen that one in person but I have their screen windjammer type thing and I am very happy with it. I use it all summer with the safari top.

I've heard that the mesh tops aren't actually just mesh...it's mesh over clear plastic, so it's just as protective as a regular bikini.
