Gear question
« on: October 21, 2008, 09:40:14 AM »
I was checking things under the YJ the other day and noticed that the yoke on the rear Dana 44 can be turned a bit before it starts turning the tires. On the front it has barely noticeable lash but on the rear it is very noticeable.  How much lash is OK for a d44?  I haven't had any other problems, just checking things.

Thanks

Unless it's making weird noises, it shouldn't be an issue.

Oh, I forgot to mention, my D44 turns about 1/8-1/4 turn before it starts turning the wheels.

Great, that's about what I noticed, probably around 1/8.  Thanks
