Topic: Rear Brake line

My kit came with a extension bracket for the rear brake line.  My question is do I have to undo any brake lines in order to get the line off that braket attached to the frame on the drivers side?  When I say undo a brake line I mean let air into the lines and I'll have to bleed the brakes then.

I wish the instrutions would of told me that.  Its fine for driving on the street right now but I'm not taking it off road because I could see stretching that line mad and breaking it.  From the looks of it its got a hard line running to it, then bracket, then rubber hose that goes down to the axle.  I got the front squared away at least heh

If a kit supplied a bracket to extend the stock frame mount further, then you really shouldn't have to remove the brake line. You remove the stock bracket from the frame with the brake line attached. Add the new bracket extension into frame and connect to original bracket. You may have to finnagle the steel line to get more bend out of it, but be gentle as it could cracked when you bend it by hand.

Get a few pics. The kit instructions should have a final picture of something like this installed.

This is what I'm looking at, the front line.  The rear line is my vent hose and I got that pulled down and lenthend enough to make me happy.  Just gotta figure out the "Z" type bracket they gave me.  The picture actually makes it look worse then what it is.

Forget the extensions.  You can just cut off your existing bracket and move it to the bottom of the frame - reweld.  No brake line disconnecting needed.

Took about 15 minutes a side on my jeep.

Thats not a bad idea, only problem is I can't weld and don't have a welder heh.  I talked with a buddy, may work with it saturday.

thats a great idea.... what do you sugest for trying to reshaping bracklines that are all rusty.

If they are so rusty that you think you will break them, then you shoudl probabally replace them before they do .
