Air filters

Well, the Dipstick thread got me thinking about air filters.

I am running a K&N with a pre-filter on a Rock-it City air tube.

So what are you running?

Fram or Oreily house brand - stock type.  Used to run a K&N cone on a tube but it was noisy and I kept clogging it due to the dust sticking to the oiled media.

Used to run a Conical K&N but it got dirty fast and allowed dirt into the tube.  After that it was Fram paper media and the stock box.  Now  it's the stock box with a Fram Air Hog.

Stock type paper, usually Fram. Too much dust for anything else.

I think I found a 4.0 TJ air tube and box. If I get it I'll try and swap it in.

That's exactly what I'll have in the next couple weeks. Right now it's just the stock junk with the restrictors removed and a K&N drop in.

i run a kn conical but im not in alotta dust unless im at the trails and for that matter it hardly ever leaves my house except for trail rides/  so i just oil it good and clean it when i get home/  i need as much air as i can get in my motor to keep the high rpms screaming on the trails for so skinny pedal fun in the dirt

stock box and filter replacement... I removed restricters and drilled holes in box on side nearest fender.. dont know if its right but thats what i did

im running AEM brute intake-i like it-just about the only engine mod i sorta noticed a difference from.

Does removing restrictors make that much of a difference?

The restrictor everyone talks about is the turn down and the venturi on a YJ.
