Bucket of bolts art

I was asked to build a spider ( first time I get paid for doing this) So after a couple of months in my spare time here is the spider. I still need to make the web, and I am going to add a spark bug to the web. She wants to hang it on the wall in her house.



Coke can gives it some size perspective.



Close up of some of the "stuff". I am not sure how many parts there are on this. I have not counted. I would guess close to 300. In the legs alone there are 40 pieces.



Here is the bottom.



Drew out the web design on my old rusted up welding table.



Here is a Dragonfly that I did for her. Hard to read but is says "Made in USA" on the center part of the tail.

Now I just need to figure out what to charge. I was thinking of coming up with a hourly rate do it that way. It is amazing how much time is spent of these things.  I think I have about 6-7 hours in the Dragonfly, somewhere in the 15-17 in the spider so far. Still have a couple more hours on it.

Nice!  8lbs is a bit heavy, though... I guess that's what a bunch of steel weights.

UPDATE



Some spider chow! Some Champion chow makes you grow BIG!



Gotta have a place to live. There's about 23 feet of 3/16 round bar.



All put together, just needs some clear coat.

I counted the stuff on the spider as close as I could. There is about 280 pieces.

That spider is sick!  8)

When I get the darn thing out, you'll have a nice 3rd gear cluster from my AX5 coming  :smokes:

Awesome! Don't know what I'll use in on yet, but sooner or later it will get put on something.

I have been wanting to make a dog for sometime now. I finally got the parts, so this weekend I put this together.




The cam shaft was the hardest thing I have cut with my chopsaw. It did not want to cut thru, that is some hard steel!




Painting seemed like it took more time than putting it together. The kids wanted it painted like our Beagle, so I tried.

Looks good, dude!  Although I like the bare metal finish better, I have to say...  But I know how it is; what the kids want, the kids get!

I was going to say it looks like you painted it to look like a beagle, then I noticed what you wrote below that  :pirate:
