New exhaust
« on: April 30, 2009, 04:30:41 PM »
Well, it seems that as a result of the coil failing on me (and my continuing to give it gas while there was no spark, to the point where some gas reached the cat and caused it to explode and throw all the contents back into the muffler), I now not only nee a new cat but also a cat back system.  I tried ordering the Borla Cat Back, but it seems that the YJ 2.5L one is discontinued, however, 4WD.com has it, so I am ordering it from them...  Anyway, I decided to go Stainless Steel this time to get some better durability...  But I was happy overall with the Gibson one (although some rust was starting to show on the weld).
'94 YJ 2.5L with 4" RE lift, Superwinch EPi9.0, FoMoCo e-Fan, SD30 and SD35 w/ARB-5.13, 165A alt., 33" BFG KM2 on 15" AR wheels, Sony sound system, Pavement Ends Hardtop, Hydroboost

I don't know why Borla is dropping all of their Jeep stuff but they are universal kits.  4.2L, 4.0L, 2.5L all use basically the same mounts.

Replacing the cat-back as well as the cat makes it a snap to install.  You'll probably have to go at it once again to fix any leaking or rattling once it's installed.

Well, they will still have to support me.  I'm no where close to the Million mile mark.  For the most part though, Borla has been A1.

I have that banks monster cat-back and a magnaflow cat along with an AEM CAI, and it is way to loud for my soft top. I wish I just would have gotten an oe muffler, cat and K&N air filter to keep the sound down the xtra HP if any was gained isnt worth it to me!
