Is your Dealer mod frendly?

I've been thinking about adding a section to add something to rant or rave Dealers around the US.

What do you think?

Not sure how that would work, most times mod friendliness depend on who's helping you out!  At least that's what I've experienced here...  Back when I used to go to the dealer to do work, I always tried to get this one lady there cause I new she would do the work without arguing with me.

Well, in the thread you could say that.  Ask for whoever at such and such dealer.  Really you're dealing with Service Managers when dealing with repairs.  But also rate their parts guy's.  Are they able to order what you want and find it easily or not.

Yeah, I'd like to see mod-friendly dealers

+

List of Shops that are happy to install aftermarket parts that you have purchase online (have had mixed experience with this; places doing business as service shop/retailers usually and understandably want to get their cut on the price of a part) Like to see more of the Tire Rack concept where you buy your tires (or any parts/mods/wheels/axles/lift kits) online and then they are shipped to an approved installer in your area who follows through with the work. Best of both worlds for the consumer, really, and a potentially steady source of business for installers that involves no marketing costs/advertising (the online retailer directs the buyer to the local install shop).   Maybe this type of setup is already in place more and I just don't realize it.

+

Remote service advisory:  you take your miked webcam/laptop out to your  garage using WiFi and then "show" a remote service advisor, who may be thousands of miles away, your car's problem or otherwise seek advice on an install or their advice on an upgrade.  This is potentially a huge service business for more than just vehicles.   Kind of like Telemedicine for vehicles.

My dealer is xtremly mod friendly, that could be because my brother works there, if you goto Monroe Ford ask for Adam the mechanic, he'll help you out.    Judging from the frapper map no one lives round me though.  Just figured i'd put the info out there in case it would benefit anyone.

local 4wd shop

I like to purchase everything off of the internet, but my buddy convinced me to check with my local 4wd guy (who specializes in Jeeps) when I wanted to immediately order new wheels and tires when I git my Jeep last month.

Sure, his actual price for the 5 wheels and tires was maybe $100 higher than what I could have bought off the internet, but the shipping would have cost me that much and he installed them for me.  More importantly, he helps me out with product decisions and is very truthful....more than worth any premium I might have to pay.
