« on: July 16, 2009, 11:45:17 PM »
I don't have one. I was looking around at the various brands. I would imagine the one that are 16K or heavier would be the ones to look for.

What are you guy's running?

i think the rule is to have it double what the winch is rated at (so if you have a 9k winch should be rated at 18k since the winch would pull double when using a snatch block) - but that is just what the winch max pull is with the line completely unwinded - mine came with the winch and i have no idea what it is rated at.

Beware there are two rating systems.  One seems to be for work load strength and the other is break strength.

ARB's small snatch block is rated - breaking strength    30,000lb.  Their higher models is rated at - working load: 19,800lb & breaking strength: 38,500lb

Warn rates their swing away pulley block at 19,000lbs/8618kgs maximum capacity snatch, 24,000 lbs/10886kgs maximum capacity heavy-duty snatch block, and 33,000 lbs maximum capacity heavy-duty snatch block.

Superwinch has theirs too.  It's rated to 20,000 lb, Swing Away Pulley Block.

I'd stick with name brands.
