Anyone want to split a set? They are kinda pricey so I thought splitting up a set of 8 would save some money. It would come out to about $34.00 EA. or $136 for a set of 4. I'll pay the shipping to get you your 4, plus there is a free T-shirt offer with this ad. You can keep the shirt.

How are you splitting the T-shirt?   :lol:  I thought you had the injector issue fixed?  I prefer the Design III's as they are an upgrade to the Design II's.

Who ever wants to split these gets the shirt. I don't need the shirt. Thought it might sweeten the deal for someone.

My injectors are working, but overall I am not impressed with them. I think my performance is down a tad over the OE ones. Mileage is about the same but I am not able to pull up the hills with the same speed as the OE injectors.

From what I understand the Accel ones have multiple holes that the fuel mix comes out of. I can't find a PIC thou.
I have not been able to find some used Ford ones that have the 19# rating.

BTW these are for 91-95 YJ with the 2.5 just to be clear.

keep the ones you have and get an adjustable FPR - will cost you about the same and give you the fine tune capability (and i probably sound like a broken record, but you'll be better in the long run).

Your prolly right. I was looking for a easy fix. I can swap injectors in about 20 min. I have not done anything with the FPR. How easy is this to do?

With my current injectors they are rated at 18.25# at 43PSI. With a AFPR can I boost that to close to 19#?

yes you can boost to an equivalent of 19lb/hr@43.5 psi (will be less on the YJ rail but as a comparison with the ones you have now) and even more than that (i had my pump running at close to 50 psi)

option 1:
you can use the hesco adjustable FPR $179 directly from hesco http://www.hesco.us/shop.asp?action=details&inventoryID=43022&catId=7973 (this is a special, always saw this at $190 on their site)


option 2:
or you can use this http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MAA-4305M/  it's $99 but you need some adapters, fuel line hookups, a fuel rail plug and a braided fuel hose from the fuel rail to the FPR

the fuel hose can be this one http://www.summitracing.com/parts/RUS-658200/ which is at about $20 but will go to even $30 if you want a longer one

the fuel line adapters you can make yourself using an old fuel rail, the plug is easy to make. the fitting adapters for the fuel and return you can buy at any autoparts store locally (don't have the p/n for those but i can look it up)

the advantage with this one is that you really get a top of the line FPR which is serviceable and made out of billet aluminum - also it has a port for a pressure gauge which is great for tuning (if you use the hesco you still need an adapter to fit a pressure gauge on the schraeder valve).
the pressure gauge is best at 0-60psi range, something like this http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-800160/
the total will take you to about $140 without the gauge and to about $155 with the gauge (you can get them cheaper off ebay, 0-100 psi will also work but it's harder to get to the 1psi adjustment).

EDIT: the plug for replacing the FPR is available from Hesco as well for $25, but it's easy to make either from aluminum bar or an old FPR, i find the $25 to be a bit much for that.

Seems like a lot of work to get them to 19#.  Not to mention, you don't even know if that will solve your problems, especially since the stock are 17.4's, which are still less then the Ford 19#.  I'd probably consider just swapping in 23# and let the computer throttle them back.

the Jeep stock ones are 17.4 at 39psi, the ones he's got are 17.2 at that pressure if i remember correctly (factory rating is 18.25 at 43.5psi) so they flow less. The advantage with the injector he's got now is that they are 4 nozzle and are disk rather than pintle and my understanding that they have better response due to less moving weight (closes and opens faster). The computer won't adjust anything for open loop, it will only re-learn the fuel trims for closed loop so if he goes to 23lb/hr that would be way too much imo. Not sure if the newer engines relearn the afr over the whole range, i think i read somewhere that some do but i'm not sure - the OBDI engines do not learn for open loop from what i know, just the closed loop where O2 feedback is used.

they are advertised as Ford design III 19# on ebay but the actual flow is 18.25lb/hr@43.5 psi which in turns is less than stock at 39psi - some marketing gimmick i guess, i've seen that with other injectors as well. By the looks of it all the bosch ford 19# injectors are not actually 19 but they are less (well, at least the ones i could actually find the P/N and flow for), the only ones that flow 19lb/hr are the ford racing ones from what i could find (and they are about $150 for one of them)
