Rub a bar of soap across the open zipper, then close and open several times. I do this every early spring and late fall.

Chapstick also works for your zippers.  Not sure where I heard that, but I have been using it for 2 years and have not had any problems.  It is not messy and easy to apply.

Basically just wax.

Mopar makes a product for lubricating your zippers.  It has a brush on the end that gets the liquid into the zipper real good.  I saved the bottle and plan on re-filling with a cheaper lubricant like silicone spray or something.  I also keep a caribiner on my key chain that fits the zipper hole to help pull the zipper when I put my top on and off.

That isn't a bad idea!

Use graphite lubricant instead of silicone.  Graphite prevents contamination from dirt, water, oil or acids.  Silicone works good on rubber, plastic, vinyl, and nylon.  I remember my mom fixing my stuck zipper on my jacket by rubbing some pencil lead on them,  that might work in a pinch.

I do the same thing. No need to buy anything special or make another trip to the store. Just grab a bar of whatever from the house. Works like a champ.
